Emergency responders were called to meet an airplane as it landed at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, on Friday (May 31) after dozens of passengers reported feeling sick.

Officials said that a group of around 75 passengers were on United Airlines Flight 1528 from Vancouver to Houston following a cruise. During the flight, about 30 people started experiencing flu-like symptoms, including nausea.

There were 163 passengers and six crew members on board the flight.

Paramedics examined several patients at the airport and determined that none of them required emergency medical attention. An official with the Houston Fire Department told KTRK that the passengers had symptoms from the cruise.

United Airlines said that the plane, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, was taken out of service so it could undergo a deep cleaning.

Officials did not say what cruise ship the passengers were on before boarding the flight or if other people reported feeling sick during the cruise.
