Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Admits Paying Porn Star Stormy Daniels

The longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, has admitted to using his private funds to pay $130,000 to a porn star who once claimed she had an affair with Trump.

“In a private transaction in 2016, I used my own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford,” Cohen said, referring to the actress also known as "Stormy Daniels."

Cohen's statement was made in response to a Jan. 22nd complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission by the watchdog group, Common Cause which questioned whether the payment to Daniels was an in-kind illegal contribution, or whether the campaign reimbursed Cohen for the expense.

“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Cohen wrote. “The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.”

The Wall Street Journal reported on the alleged payment to Daniels back in January, after she alleged to have had an affair with Trump while at a 2006 Lake Tahoe golf tournament. In Touch Magazine later published a previously withheld interview with Daniels, in which she described the alleged affair.
